Mrs. Veronica Reese, 91, of Duryea, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna Pavlisko Dunay and attended Duryea High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Schott Optical, Duryea.

Veronica was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Reese Sr., who passed away on May 16, 1974, brothers, Albert and Michael and sisters, Theresa Macuga, Pauline Vitek, Ruth Pernot and Ann Breig.

Surviving are:
Son, Richard Reese and his wife, Doreen, of Hughestown
Grandson, Brian Reese and his wife, Nicole, of Jenkins Township
Great grandson, Spencer Reese of Jenkins Township

Brother, Martin Dunay and his wife, Irene, of Duryea
Brother, Paul Dunay and his wife, Anna Mae, of Shelton, CT
Brother, Joseph Dunay of Enola
Sister, Irene Kosik of Dupont
Sister, Helen Champi of Duryea
Nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018, at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
