Mrs. Veronica A. Chicoski, 96, of Duryea, a guest at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Chromey Franko. She attended Duryea Schools. Prior to her retirement, Veronica was employed in the area garment industry and retired from McKinney Mfg., Scranton.

Prior to its closing, Veronica was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Duryea and was a current member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. Veronica was a very active member of her church and enjoyed working the parish picnics. Veronica was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, baking and spending time sitting on her front porch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Chicoski, who passed away on October 16, 1985, brother, Joseph Franko and son in law, Stanley Ropieski.

Daughter, Marian Ropieski of Duryea
Son, Edward Chicoski and his wife, Debbie, of Pittston Township

Stefanie Chicoski

Breanne Smith
Brian Ropieski

Great great grandchildren:
Jacob, Jonas, Ronin and Asher Smith

The family would like to thank Dr. Guy Fasciana, Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for the care and compassion that was shown to Veronica.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
