Mr. Tim Welling, 64, of Duryea, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Brownsville, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary Catherine Hennessey Welling and was a graduate of Riverside High School. He served the United States Army, Reserves and National Guard. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the PA Department of Corrections, Waymart. After his retirement, he was a valued and highly respected staff member and funeral attendant at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc. for many years.

He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. Tim enjoyed camping, traveling and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Tim was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, PA State Corrections Officers Association, PA Prison Wardens Association and the American Legion Post 585 Duryea

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Don and John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
