Mr. Thomas Sapolis, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in the hospice unit of Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born and raised in Duryea, Tom was the son of the late Thomas and Josephine Kovalan Sapolis and was a graduate of Duryea High School.
Tom was retired from Thomson Electronics, Dunmore and was a life long resident of Aston Mountain, where he enjoyed life with his dogs. He was a sports fan of the Washington Commanders and the Mets. He enjoyed reading, photography and his many trips across America in his RV.
Tom was preceded in death by his former wife, Dorothy Biga, daughter, Karen Lidy, brother, William and sisters, Ella Mae and Dorothy.

Sister, Ann of New Jersey
Brother, Joseph of Bend, Oregon
Brother, Richard Sapolis of Kingston
Sister, Judy of Exeter
Nieces and nephews
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. My sincere sorrow on the passing of Tom. I am a distant relative. My nana was Helen Sapolis, who married Bill Rutkowski. My mother was Nancy. My love and prayers with all of you. Wishing you all the peace that now Tom enjoys.
