Mr. Thomas Kokinda, 102, of Duryea, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Highland Manor, Exeter with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late John and Mary Stefanko Kokinda and was a graduate of Duryea High School. He worked on radar during World War II at Western Electric, New Jersey. Tom was the owner of Prime-Time Travel, Scranton.
He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. Tom was president of the Pittston Senior Center Council and was on the advisory board of the Luzerne-Wyoming Counties for the Area Agency on Aging.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard, daughter, Jeanie Kritzer, brothers, David, Jack, Joseph and Charlie and sister, Mary Lisiak.
He and his wife, the former Connie Colella Andrews, would have celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary on July 20th.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 9:30 am in Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. What a long life! Tom graduated in 1940 with my mom they were friends for many years and always on the reunion committee together… Beverly and RoseMary you girls were special to my mom and I am so sorry for your loss!
