Mrs. Theresa Ostrosky, 94, of Lansdale, formerly of Duryea, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, at Gwynedd Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lansdale.
Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella Modeski Nadolny and was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1947. Theresa was formerly employed by Commonwealth Engineering, Scranton and prior to her retirement, she was employed by PNC Bank, Avoca.
Theresa was a lifelong and faithful member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea, where she received all of her Sacraments, including marriage. Theresa loved many of the simple things in life, cooking Polish delicacies, Burger King meals and a glass of sweet red wine. She was also passionate about birds, gardening and her boxer dogs.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Bernard and her niece and goddaughter, Kristen McHugh.

Nephew, Michael McHugh and his wife, Jiyeon
Great nieces, Carly and Raegan Spina and Zoey McHugh
Great nephew, Eamon McHugh
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11:00 am in Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary School, 125 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
