Mrs. Theresa Macuga, of Duryea, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014, in Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.
Born in Duryea, on February 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna Pavlisko Dunay. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. She was formerly employed in the area garment industry and retired from the former Lady Carol, Duryea.
She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea and their Christian Women's Society. She was a member of the ILGWU, the RSVP Volunteer Program of the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne County and the RSVP Pen Pal Program for Lackawanna County. She was an active member of the Pittston Senior Center, where she loved spending her time serving meals to others.
She was a loving mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend. A caregiver to many over her life, she will be missed by all that have touched her life.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Edwin J. Macuga, who passed away on March 8, 1999, and two brothers, Albert and Michael Dunay.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2014, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
