Stella Dolores Wendoloski, 99, recently from New Bern, North Carolina, formally from Cape Coral, Florida and Duryea, transitioned to heaven peacefully at Truewood Assisted Living on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Stella was born October 19, 1924, to the late Ignatius and Marcella Radzville, originally from Lithuania then of Wilkes-Barre. This year she would have been turning 100 years old.
In her early years Stella grew up on a farm in Northeast Pennsylvania. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse and later went on to attend business school. After graduating from business school, she managed a garment factory in Duryea.
After retirement she learned to play golf from her second husband, Leonard, which quickly became a long-lasting hobby. She was a member of many golf clubs and associations, as well as gardening clubs. She loved people and was always ready for the next adventure. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege to know her.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Anderika, her only daughter, Nancy Reade, her second husband, Leonard Wendoloski, brothers, Joseph and Frank Radzville, sisters, Marcella Kashuba and Verna Harwood, niece’s, Marion Blecher, Josie Binker, and nephew, Thomas Radzville.
Continuing her memory are her nephews, Jerry Harwood and Richard Radzville, nieces, Karen Lukenda and Lillian Barna, great nieces and nephews and many golf buddies and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10:30 am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson St, Duryea, with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. A short graveside service will be at St. John’s Cemetery, located on the corner of Evans Street & Phoenix Street, Duryea. Delores and my Uncle Leonard shared a love of golf and a love of Florida. It was nice to see them enjoying their retirement together. Condolences to the family.
