Mrs. Stella Antonello, 91, of Pittston, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.

Born on September 9, 1925 in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Azaravich.

Stella was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1943 and was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston.

Stella was employed as a seamstress early in her life and continued her love of sewing for family and friends.

Stella took great joy in her family as she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took great pride in her legacy she left behind, her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Antonello Sr., sister, Helen Kwiecinski, brothers, Johnny and Edward Azaravich.

Daughter, Patricia Wolyniak and her husband, Larry, of Old Forge
Daughter, Jean Grundman and her husband, David, of Bishopville, MD
Son, Harry Antonello Jr. and his wife Deborah of Duryea
Son, Michael Antonello and his wife, Dolores, of Pittston
Daughter, Alissa Dolan and her husband, Michael, of Hazleton

9 grandchildren:
Rebecca Richardson, Amy Evans, Anthony Antonello, Danielle Smolley, Joseph Matassa, Otto Grundman, Matthew Dolan, Austin Motiuk and Conner Segovia

5 great grandchildren:
Isabella Antonello, John Smolley, Stella Smolley, Victoria Matassa and Isabelle Matassa

Stella's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care and compassion during the last several months.

A funeral will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017, at 9:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 North Main Street, Pittston with the Rev. Jeffrey Walsh and Rev. Steven Roth officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Help of Christians Cemetery, Pittston. Family and friends may call on Sunday, January 1, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
