Mrs. Sophie Zbylicki, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late John and Kate Lucas Echalk. She attended Duryea High School. Sophie was employed by the area silk mill, "ONYX" Tavern and retired from Duryea Sportswear.
Sophie was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.
Sophie was a former member of the Holy Rosary PTO, Duryea Senior Citizens's Club, the Democratic Committee serving the polls and the American Heart Association. Sophie was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Women's Society and the ILGWU.
Sophie's 96 years of personal accomplishments, talents and interests are too extensive to mention. She was an incredible, inspirational, genuine person that served as an exemplary role model. She was deeply committed to her family, friends and living as the best person she could be. She enjoyed contributing as much as she could of herself to make her gift of 96 years meaningful. Her family will always remember her smile and she will be deeply missed.
Sophie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Pete" Zbylicki, who passed away on November 11, 1985, brothers, Leo, Edward, John, Alfred, Theodore, Stanley and Henry and sisters, Josephine Dopkin, Stella Dopkin, Lucille Stipanovich and Edna Syreika.

Son, Robert Zbylicki and his wife, Pamela, of Duryea
Son, Joseph Zbylicki and his wife, Elizabeth, of Duryea
Daughter, Sharon Sznyter of Duryea
Grandchildren
Great grandchildren
Nieces and nephews

The family would like to thank Compassionate Home Health Care and Hospice and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the care and compassion that was shown to Sophie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
