Mrs. Sophia (Kalmanowicz) Stascavage, 96, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017, at Wesley Village, Pittston.

She previously resided in Duryea and was preceded in death by Walter, her husband of 59 years. She was a homemaker and a devoted and loving mother to her three surviving children and a proud grandmother to her four grandsons and four great grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her three sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are:
Son, Bernard and his wife, Theresa
Daughter, Beverly Olsheski
Daughter, Nancy Wysocki and her husband, Charles

Grandsons:
Gregory and Matthew Stascavage
David and Paul Olsheski
Great grandchildren
Numerous nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017, at 10:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
