Mrs. Rosalie M. Gudz, of Gales Ferry, CT passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, in New London CT., with her loving husband of 54 years at her side.
Born in Duryea, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Veronica Kulas (Orzell). She was a graduate of Duryea High School, College Misericordia, and Marywood University. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Ledyard Connecticut School District.
Surviving are her husband, Robert R. Gudz
Son, Robert Gudz and his wife, Sharon, of Nokesville, Virginia
Son, Rodney Gudz and his wife, Kelli, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island
Daughter, Renee Mulkey of Stratton, Vermont
Seven grandchildren: Annmarie, Marytherese, and Johnathan Mulkey; Robert and Thomas Gudz; Andrew and Kristen Gudz
Foster brother, Peter Pavidis and his wife, Harriet, of Fountain Valley, California
Two nephews: Barry Chromey and Kevin Chromey
Niece, Rosemary Chromey
Great niece, Leah Goldberg.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Chromey.
Rosalie was devoted to her family, and her strong Catholic faith. Putting others first was her hallmark.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. John Polednak officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
