Mr. Ronald John Liput, 78, of Duryea, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late John Liput and Helen Phillips Venetz. He was a graduate of Northeast High School, earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Kings College and earned his Master's Degree of Science in Counseling Education from the University of Scranton. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Clarks Summit State Hospital as a Therapeutic Activities Specialist.

Ronald was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston.

Ronald enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed buying and selling Depression Era Glass and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

He was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Melissa Liput, brother, John Liput and sister, Nancy Liput.

Daughter, Lea Martin and her husband, John, of Naples, FL

Son, Stephen Liput and his wife, Jennifer, of Nolensville, TN

A viewing will be on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 205 North Main Street, Pittston. A Mass of Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 am with the Rev. Andrii Dumnych officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Pittston. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
