Romayne D. Solarchik
May 19, 2017

Ms. Romayne D. Solarchik, 90, of Duryea, went to rest in God's love on Friday, May 19, 2017, after a brief illness.

She was born on April 15, 1927 to Ike (Elias) and Della Galavage Solarchik. She was a proud graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1945, and treasured her relationships with her friends/classmates. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Head Nurse at King's County Hospital, Brooklyn, New York.

She was a devoted member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

Romayne will be greatly missed by all those who lives she so generously touched. Romayne always loved to laugh and thoroughly enjoyed life.

Though death saddens us, our faith teaches us that we will one day be with Romayne and in this we find hope - May she find peace with those who have gone home to be with our Lord.

Surviving are:
Cousin, Adrienne Donaldson and her husband, Richard L. Dreiser Jr., of Solomons, MD
Beloved friend, Ann Levandoski of Duryea
Classmate and dear friend, Madeline Gillis of Moosic

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 11:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Duryea. So sorry to hear that Romayne passed away. She was a lifelong friend of our family (The Hunts) and my mom's best friend. We always enjoyed visiting with her over the years.
