Mr. Roger Lionel Croteau, 79, of Harding, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at his home.

Roger was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on September 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Fernando and Felixine Auger Croteau and was a graduate of St. Marie's High School, Manchester, New Hampshire. He served in the United States Army for three years from April 1961 to April 1964. He served in the Cold War in Berlin, Germany. He worked in the meat packing plants as a meat boner for 25 years and retired from Techneglas after working there for over 18 years.

He loved baking muffins and giving them away, spending time outside with his John Deere and Massey Ferguson tractors, gardening and wildlife. He and his wife (Jeanie) owned Croteau's Market on 4th Street in West Pittston.

He was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Eric Croteau, siblings, Rev. Fernand Croteau, Bertrand Croteau, Ronald Croteau, Jeannine (Croteau) Labore and Rita Croteau and sister and brother in law, Florence and Clem Skesavage.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Jeanie) Mazur Croteau
Son, Roger Croteau and his wife, Delza, of Harding
Son, Craig Croteau and his wife, Karen, of Swiftwater
Twin granddaughters, Collette and Julia Croteau of Swiftwater

Sister in law, Lorraine Deebel and her husband, Jim, of Lehighton
Nephew and caregiver, Keith Skesavage of Forty Fort
Many nieces and nephews

Sister, Pauline (Croteau) Fauteux and her husband, Jean Guy, of Manchester, New Hampshire
Sister, Lucille (Croteau) Schaechter of St. Cloud, Florida
Sister, Doris (Croteau) Morin and her husband, Paul, of Orlando, Florida
Brother, George Croteau and his wife, Elaine, of Manchester, New Hampshire

A Mass of Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 10:00 am in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 205 North Main Street, Pittston with the Rev. Andrii Dumnych officiating. Interment will be private in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the church. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. George and I are beyond heartbroken to learn of Roger's death. We have extremely fond memories of our visits to the "Pittston Plaza"!! The "holes in the walls" bargain shopping!! The tomatoes and bread stuffed in the trunk of George's car,!! The trips to Hershey Park, Vanity Fair Outlets, Moss Street !!! The house across the street from the Susquehanna River..
