Mr. Robert J. Zbylicki, a lifelong resident of Duryea, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Edward and Sophie Echalk Zbylicki. Bob was a member of the first graduating class of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1967, East Stroudsburg University and the University of Scranton. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves, 365 Engineers. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Pittston Area School District for 37 years, where he affected the lives of the children that he taught. Bob took great pride in teaching his students, giving them every opportunity to learn and help shape them into the adults that they are today.
Bob was a devoted Christian and member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea where he served as altar boy, lector, and usher. He formerly served as a Duryea Councilman. Bob always ensured the local pizza businesses were always kept in business. He will be missed on his Saturday walks with his lifelong friend, Frank.
Bob was the most loving man a wife could ever hope for. His unconditional love and support for his family are going to be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his bonus son in law, Andrew Garofano and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Zbylicki.
Surviving is his wife of 18 years, the former Pamela Levandoski.
