Mrs. Rita M. Bogoshowsky, of Thistle Street, Pittston passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Wassil Francik. She was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1941. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Duplan Corp., Kingston.

Prior to its closing, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pittston and their Confraternity of Christian Women. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Pittston Senior Citizens.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph, who passed away on October 24, 1991 and one brother, Edward Francik Sr., who passed away on June 18, 2004.

Funeral will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston with the Rev. Peter Tomczak officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call Thursday night from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.
