Mrs. Rita Clara Morris, 88, formerly of Pittston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.
Born in Dupont, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara Panuski Lokuta and was a graduate of Dupont High School, Class of 1954. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Social Security Administration, Wilkes-Barre.
Rita was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston. She was a loving mother, grandma and great grandma. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and taking care of her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing pitch, going for walks and to the movies and church picnics with her best friend, Ann.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, George T. Morris, who passed away on November 12, 1989, and her brother-in-law, Edward Andrejko.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 9:30 am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 North Main Street, Pittston with the Rev. Joseph Verespy officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA 18510. I will always remember Aunt Rita to be such a loving, sweet, and generous person. When we used to visit, she fussed over us and made us feel special. My mom loved her dearly. Rita will be missed by Gloria and Gloria’s family.

Rita was a wonderful person with a good sense of humor. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed the company of her family. She will be sadly missed.
