Peter P. Narsavage, of Wilkes-Barre, PA and Punta Gorda, FL, passed away on November 17, 2025 in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Born on August 1, 1942, in the Junction section of Pittston, he was the son of the late Stanley and Frances (Prekel) Narsavage. A 1960 graduate of St. John’s High School, Pittston, Peter attended the University of Scranton before earning his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Detroit in 1966. He later became a Registered Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor.
Peter met the love of his life, Georgia Roberts, on a blind date, and after a few dates he took her to her senior prom. They were married on October 26, 1968, at the Walter Reed Army Chapel, beginning 57 years of partnership, devotion, and adventure. Together they traveled widely, ultimately visiting all 50 states, multiple countries, and five continents.
Peter was a civil engineer with PennDOT for 32 years, ultimately serving as Right-of-Way Administrator. He was an integral part of many major road projects in Northeast Pennsylvania. He also served as President of the American Society of Highway Engineers, North East Penn Section. His career was a source of great pride, and his dedication to public infrastructure left a lasting impact on the region.
Peter volunteered as a Scout leader and supported his children’s many activities. A wonderful husband and dedicated father, he received both Father’s Day and Mother’s Day cards from his children during the years when Georgia’s academic studies kept her busy. Peter was endlessly handy, always working on a project around the house or finding a better way to get things done. He enjoyed restoring his first car, a 1955 Nash Metropolitan, and proudly showing off his car at events. In the 1960s & 70s, he and Georgia were frequent trophy winners in regional car rallies, a hobby they shared for many years.
Peter was known for his dry wit. He loved a good pun or groan-worthy dad joke, and anyone who asked “How are you?” got his trademark reply, “Terrible.” His humor and timing will be dearly missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers: an infant brother, Stanley, and Frank.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Georgia; his children Peter Alan Narsavage and his wife Sarah of Columbus, OH, Paul Narsavage and his husband Mike Lawson of Bethlehem, PA, and Marea Narsavage of Schnecksville, PA; and his grandchildren Patrick Narsavage and his wife Erica, Eliza Heilveil and her wife Megan, and Kylie Sutphen. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ann Long and her husband Blair of Wapwallopen, his brother Stephen Narsavage of Hughestown, and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends in both Pennsylvania and Florida.
The family is deeply grateful for the kindness and support shown by so many in recent months, including the caring communities of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Ventura Lakes in Punta Gorda, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 am in Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Township at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bernard J. Our condolences to Georgia and the rest of Peter's family. Our time line knowing Peter goes back to 1956 when we both attended St John's High School with Peter. After that Peter and I (Paul) shared the same academic experience at both the University of Scranton and then the University of Detroit. After that, different careers in different states served up only a few more meetings at which it was clear that Peter remained true to his background and had achieved a successful life in his work and in his family - Good job Peter!

So sorry to hear about Pete. Prayers, thoughts, and love go to the beautiful Narsavage family. Pete was my next door neighbor and was my travel buddy for four years as we hitchhiked or took a bus to St. John's high school in Pittston. Pete probably never told anybody, but in that four years of hitchhiking many times we got a ride in a big black cadillac. We never spoke to the kind gentleman who was always well dressed in a black suit, but that saved us the nickel or dime for the bus ride. Today that would never happen, but back in the 50's that was a common way to travel.

Peter was a wonderful man. I had the pleasure to know Peter and Georgia in Florida and socialize with them. Peter was never at a loss for a wise quip. I will miss him. Rest in peace Peter.

We are so sorry for your loss, Georgia. My first interaction with Peter several years ago was as his partner in a friendly game of BeanBag on the pool deck at LOLV. Although he used one hand on a deck chair for balance, we won due to his determination and good-natured spirit. You were his greatest Nurse and Chearleader! Condolences to you and the entire family.

We will always remember Peter’s sense of humor. We will never forget his lesson on cement and concrete which we discuss every time we take a trip. Roads and bridges always bring back memories of Peter. We have wonderful pictures of you and Peter from our trips together. Know that we are praying for you and your family. We love you! JC & Suzy
