Peter Chropowicki

Mr. Peter Chropowicki, of Old Forge, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Born in Forest City, he was the son of the late Peter and Veronica Klaczkowski Chropowicki. He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, Peter was employed by the former Pope and Talbot, Ransom.

Peter was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea and the American Legion Post 585, Duryea.

Peter was a kind gentle man who enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren, playing cards and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife June Ann Barlik Chropowicki, who passed away February 4, 2012 and eight brothers and sisters.

Daughter, Jane Chropowicki of Old Forge
Son, Jim Chropowicki and his wife, Ada, of Duryea
Grandson, Jim Chropowicki of Pittston
Granddaughter, Julie Chropowicki of Duryea

Nephew, Robert Lipski and his wife, Grace, of Scranton
Nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
