Ms. Muriel (Isabel) Pollard, 61,of Duryea, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains.
Born in Avoca, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Mary Louise Laird Pollard. She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. She was formerly employed by Schott Optical, Duryea. She was currently employed by Mohegan Sun, Plains.
She had many pen pals throughout the United States that she enjoyed writing to. She had a special love for animals, especially her dog, Sebastian Noah, who passed away. She always enjoyed going on day trips and to the fair.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Pollard and sister, Edith Kate Pollard.

Aunt, Barbara Laird of Reeders
Funeral will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge. A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Isabel and I were pen pals for at least 40 years, my family and I met her when we drove over from Ontario Canada in 1990.... I am going to miss her so much,,,the entire mails every day kept us in close contact.... I didn't find out till much later of her passing,,,,,

We were friends for many years, she was family in my heart. I am still in shock and crying often. I miss her dreadfully already. She will forever live in my heart! Isabel I know you have Sebastian by your side, find Dot and Wolfie and the rest of my family and wait until we meet again! I loved you dearly my friend. Joe, I am sorry for your loss. Aunt Barbara she always looked forward to the holidays at your home, I am sorry for your loss.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I would talk to Isabel on break at work. She was a sweet and lovely woman with a kind spirit. I'll miss seeing her.
