Mrs. Pearl M. Donley passed away peacefully Friday, June 5, 2015, at WellSpan York Hospital, York. A former resident of Forty Fort, Kingston, and Duryea, she had resided in Gettysburg for the past two years.

Born in Duryea on January 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Mary Romanecz Dobrowolski. She was a 1946 graduate of Duryea High School. She began her retail and fashion career at Josephine’s Dress Shop, Pittston and the Globe Store, Scranton; was a buyer for Hess’s, Allentown, from 1958 to 1962; and later served as a sales associate at the Kiddie Shoppe and the Bon Ton. She was also employed for many years by RCA Corporation, Mountain Top.

She was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston.

A loving and beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she had an amazing ability to connect with people, engage in conversation, and continually learn about the world. Her wise counsel, sense of style, boundless energy, and determination will be missed.

She was married to James Donley from 1958 until his death in 1976. Also preceding her death was a sister, Doris Carey.

Grandson, James Forcier of Leesburg, Virginia
Sister, Jean Dobrowolski of Duryea
Sister, Louise Szewczyk of Duryea
Brother, Thaddeus Dobrowolski and his wife, Neva, of Olean, New York
Brother, Edwin Dobrowolski and his wife, Pat, of Shavertown
Nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the Brick United Methodist Church, 935 Foote Ave., Duryea. Interment will be in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral. Friends may call on Sunday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Hoyt Library, 284 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
