Mr. James J. "UHOH" Kroptavich, 71, of Duryea, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.

Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late William and Edna Abent Kroptavich. He attended Duryea schools.

He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

He was a loving father, father in law, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was affectionately known as "UHOH" by his family and friends, having been given the name by his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fixing things.

He was proceeded in death by his sister, Catherine Kashuba.

Son, James J. Kroptavich Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Duryea
Granddaughters, Paige, Brooke and Sofia
Brother, William Kroptavich III of Duryea
Brother, Robert Kroptavich and his wife, Sharon, of Clark Summit
Sister, Marion Kroptavich of Duryea
Sister, Eleanor Romanczuk and her husband, Robert, of Pittston Township
Ex wife, Noreen (Mazzarella) Danko of Pittston Township
Nieces and Nephews

Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea with the Rev. Andrew Sinnott officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
