Mrs. Marie Capizzi, 88, of Pittston, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sophie Spak Warabak. She attended Pittston High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the area garment industry,

Marie was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

She was a loving mom and nana. Her life was centered around her family and her faith. She was a constant source of inspiration to her entire family. She enjoyed gardening and creating hand made crafts.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Andrew and Michael

Daughter, Marina Capizzi of Old Forge
Daughter, Patti Warabak and her husband, Ken, of Pittston Township
Daughter, Terri Phalen of Pittston

Grandson, Jimmy Phalen and his wife, Caitlin
Granddaughter, Kenndra Warabak
Grandson, Brian Warabak
Great granddaughter, Nevaeh
Nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Pittston. A viewing will be held on Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea.
