Margaret M. Nowakowski, 87, of Pittston, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Wesley Village, Pittston.

Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine Lewandowski Nowakowski. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former McKinney Mfg., Scranton.

She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.  As the family matriarch, Margaret was a loving daughter, sister and aunt.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Matthew, Stanley and Joseph and sisters, Anna Steponaitis, Theresa Moskaitis and Josephine Nowakowski.

Sister, Lucille Davis of Moosic
Brother, George Nowakowski and his wife, Judy, of Duryea
Brother, Edward Nowakowski of Duryea
Nieces and nephews
Great nieces and great nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea with the Rev. Andrew Sinnott officiating.  Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.  There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. my deepest synpathy on your loss of margaret. she was a nice lady. i met her when she wouldwatch her nephew ken's children , when he & laurie would attend bible study, at st. john's in pittston. i would visit her at wesley village. we would talk about the up coming church bazzaars, she said she missed them & potato pancakes. twice i brought her them to enjoy. she did.
