Mrs. Margaret Joseph, 85, of Duryea, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Solak McKitish. She was a graduate of Pittston High School.

She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston.

She was a loving mom, grandma and great grandma who will be deeply missed by her family. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent baker.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Lewis E. Joseph, who passed away on February 5, 1996, brothers, George, Alex, Michael and Stephen, and sister, Anna Kobi.

Surviving are:
Son, John Joseph and his wife, Monica, of Dunmore
Daughter, Teresa Drogalis and her husband, Jed, of Old Forge
Daughter, Betty Rehoski, and her husband, Edward, of Duryea
Seven grandchildren
Two great grandchildren

Sister, Mary Wisniewski of Marshalls Creek
Sister, Helen Billack of Bayonne, New Jersey
Sister, Elizabeth Fedorcsko of Bayonne, New Jersey
Sister in law: Joan McKitish of Duryea
Nieces and nephews

The family would like to thank Dr. Guy Fasciana, Compassionate Care Hospice and the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center for the care that was given to Margaret.

Funeral will be held Monday, August 4, 2014, at 9:15 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston by Father Gary Messinger. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 205 North Main Street, Pittston, Pa. 18640.
