Mrs. Lydia Mae Yuhas, 73, of Duryea, passed away Thursday morning, July 25, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late David and Bertha Osmolia Howell. She attended Newton Ransom High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Topps Chewing Gum Co., Duryea and the former Panel Prints, Old Forge.
Lydia was avid bingo player who loved to play bingo throughout the area, especially at Germania Hose Company, Duryea with her dear friend Lois. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends and watching the Yankees baseball games. She was a member of the West Side Senior Center, Scranton.
She was a loving mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt, mother in law, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Andrew V. Yuhas, who passed away on March 11, 1991 and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with services by the Rev. Joseph LaCava of the Independent Bible Church, Duryea. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea. Family and friends may call Sunday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. I'm so sorry to hear about Lydia's passing. She was such a wonderful lady. I can only imagine her and my grandma Margaret are now playing bingo together again in heaven.
