Mrs. Lucille Sabuto, 97, of Duryea, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at Riverside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Taylor.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Nowakowski Kishel and was a graduate of Duryea High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Del Mar, Pittston.

Lucille was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

Lucille was a loving mom, grandma and gigi who loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed baking for her family, especially her cookies.

She was preceded in death by husband, Edward, who passed away on May 22, 1988, great granddaughter, Coral Skye Smits, who passed away in June of 2020, brother, John Kishel and sisters, Regina Orkwis and Helen Kaczmarczyk.

Surviving are:
Daughter, Marlene Mitala and her husband, Joseph, of Flemington, New Jersey
Son, John Sabuto and his wife, Mary Jane, of Duryea

Grandchildren:
John and Daniel Sabuto
Joseph Mitala
Kymberlee Smits
Christina Orlando

Great grandchildren:
Joe Michael, Bert and Effie Mitala
Maddox and Jaxon Orlando

Nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Janaury 8, 2020 at 10:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home.
