Coolbaugh

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, Louise Claud Coolbaugh, of Pompano Beach, Florida passed away at Holy Cross Hospital with her loving sons by her side, she was 85.

Born in Danville, Virginia, and known by many as “Fribby”, Louise was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Moving from New York after retiring from an illustrious management career in the life insurance industry, working for two prominent New York City Mass Mutual offices, Louise started her new career leading the banquet office in Fort Lauderdale at the Marriott Harbor Beach, retiring a second time after fifteen years of service.

Louise loved living her life around taking care of her family, having parties with friends and family, and traveling to her extended family on both sides. Their crowning achievement was building a beautiful vacation home in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania where she and her children spent much of their time growing up. She enjoyed entertaining immensely and was always the life of the party. Fribby was a natural in that environment. She wore a special 18k gold Oscar around her neck and whoever didn’t know her truly believed she could have surely been an Oscar winner. She made everyone she met feel special and important for whom they were. She could single you out and focus on everything that made you amazing. As a friend, she never let you down and would ALWAYS be there. Her passion was to her family, friends, and making life better for those around her. As a mother, she was the soul of the home that brought warmth and comfort that was felt by all who entered it. As a grandmother, she was there for every grandchild’s special moment and made the event that much sweeter and special by her involvement, the true matriarch of our family.

Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband Don in 1990 and is the loving mother of, Donald Jr. and his wife Jean, Eric, and his wife Eileen and cherished grandmother of, Eric Jr, Katlyn, Christian, Jack, Isabella, and Brandon. She is also survived by many family and friends who she held near and dear to her heart to include her later in life companion, Jim Reilly. She is also predeceased by her brother Jesse T. Claud and sister, Jane Temple.
