Loretta (Lodzia) Yachna, 91, of Duryea, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Wesley Village, Pittston.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lottie Mergel Yachna and attended Duryea High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Pittston Apparel.

She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

Loretta enjoyed playing bingo, watching game shows, especially the Price is Right, listening to the polkas and watching soap operas, especially The Young and the Restless.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edmund, Alfred, Stephen and Harry and sisters, Victoria Yachna, Marie Kutza, Bernadine Tetlak and Pearl Breymeier.

Surviving are:
Sister, Gertrude Yachna of Duryea
Sister, Johanna Yachna of Duryea
Nephew, James Yachna, who she helped raise like her own, of Duryea
Nieces and nephews

Funeral will be Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 11:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. John Polednak officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. So sorry to hear of Lodzia’s passing. She will be greatly missed by her two sisters Gert & Johanna and her nephew Jamie and all her longtime neighbors. She is now at peace with her Lord.
