Ms. Kathleen M. Spatzer, 68, of Little River, South Carolina, formerly of Avoca, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, at McCleod Seacoast Hospital, Little River, South Carolina.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Resavy Walsh and was graduate of Pittston Area High School and Bloomsburg University. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Mercy Hospital, Scranton and Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.
Kathy was a loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Dustin, who was the light of her life. She was the Philadelphia Eagles biggest fan, loved to garden and spend her Friday nights playing cards with her friends.
Surviving are:
Daughter, Holly Dering and her husband, Evan, of Avoca
Daughter, Megan Baldoni and her husband, Frank, of Pittston
Grandson, Dustin Baldoni of Pittston
Sister, Karen Piontek and her husband, Bernard, of Duryea
Nieces and great nieces
Fiance, Alan Carey, of Little River, South Carolina
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. I’m so sorry for loss of this Fantastic lady. I had some very good times helping her in the garden cleaning out the Mexican petunias. We had a private joke about her being one of the witches and I better watch out. I will miss her dearly and love her. Rest in peace . We all loved you.
