Pisano

Ms. Joyce Ann Pisano, 70, of Duryea, entered eternal peace and paradise on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the home of her daughter Stacy. Joyce passed away peacefully in Stacy's arms surrounded by her loved ones, Stacy's husband, Seth Thomas, Baby Jango, Gail Thomas, Stacy's best friend, Kristen Brice, Joyce's best friend Michelle Ciannilli, and cousin, Janice.

Born on February 7, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Gloria Lipski Malopolski. She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, worked at Holy Rosary School, Duryea and then worked until she retired at the Social Security Administration, Wilkes-Barre.

She loved being with Stacy every chance she got, whether it was going out to eat, road trips, shopping, vacations to the outer Banks, Florida, Canada and hitting up every casino along the way. She was amazing at crafts and making people laugh. She always put everyone before herself and would give her last dime to help someone out. She was Stacy's whole world, her best friend, her everything.

Joyce loved car rides, singing to the oldies, Grand Funk, The Glass Prism, Bruno Mars and her favorite Elvis Presley. The last song played for her before she passed away was Spirit in the Sky. She would always sing that's where I'm going to go when I die. She had immense faith, prayed to God daily for everyone she knew. One of Joyce's greatest gifts was giving her daughter Stacy away to her husband Seth. She's resting in peace pain free knowing what an amazing man he is and knowing that he would take care of her baby girl when she was gone. She loved him so much and always said what an amazing son-in-law he was. Joyce was an amazing cook and baker. She loved her close friends, cherished the great memories. She loved talking about her high school days, telling stories of her and her friends gallivanting in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. She loved watching her grand puppy Jango and cuddling with him watching all of her favorite shows like Swamp People and Sci-Fi movies.

Joyce was proceeded in death by her partner in crime, Nancy Langford. They would go to Sanibel Island together and talk for hours. They were more like sisters than cousins. They always refer to each other as "Hoke" (Joyce) and "Miss Daisy" (Nancy). They are finally together again in heaven, picking seashells and yelling Get Out of the Water!

Last but not least, the light of her life, her grandson, Jeffrey. They had a special bond between a grandmother and grandson that you can't explain and that no one could break. She will always be with you and always love you.

Stacy and Seth would like to thank Allied Hospice, Scranton for the love, support, care, comfort and compassion, as well as Michelle Piontek, and Joyce's closest friends. Mama Bear, you are my sunshine. It's not goodbye, it's until we meet again, see you soon, I Love You So Much! Your Baby Bear Stacy

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce's family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. You were my bff, my ride or die. We promised we would be there for each other through good and bad and that we were. I will never forget the good times we had and there were so many to even count!
