Mr. Joseph Ronald Mikiewicz, 83, of Duryea, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Mayme) Lis Mikiewicz and was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston.

A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved all sports, especially golf, often passed the time at trying his luck at the casino. He touched many lives and will be sadly missed.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, the former Marlene Occhiato.

A Mass of Christian Burial honoring his life will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston with Msgr. John J. Sempa officiating. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
