Mrs. Joanne M. Phillips, of Duryea, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene Krzywicki Yurkanin. She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School and was employed by Mr. Z's, Duryea.

Joanne was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and doing hair.

Joanne and her husband, William (Bill), just celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on October 25th.

Daughter: Amanda Phillips of Duryea
Sister: Janet Fela and her husband, James, of Avoca
Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews

A Mass of the Divine Liturgy will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018, at 10:30 am in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 205 North Main Street, Pittston by the Rev. Gary Mensinger. Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Duryea. There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
