Mr. James W. Babiarz, 76, of Greenfield Twp., passed away Monday, March 26, 2018, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Dalton, he was the son of the late Andrew and Irene Rodney Babiarz. Jim was a graduate of Falls-Overfield High School. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Penn's Best, Tunkhannock.

Jim will always be remembered for his sense of humor. He always had the ability to make you laugh and brighten up your day. He always had a smile and kind word to say to everyone he knew and everyone he met.

Jim loved bowling, playing his guitar, country music and western movies. But what he really enjoyed the most, was spending time with his two grandchildren. He will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Marie, two brothers, Robert and Ken and sister, Rosalie Rowland.

Surviving are:

Daughter, Mary Rose Schwartztrauber and her husband, Philip, of Carbondale

Two grandchildren, Tyler and Lisa Rose

Brother, Edward Babiarz and his wife, Susan

Several nieces and nephews

The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff on telemetry at Geisinger CMC for their love and support and to Dr. Rao for his kindness and compassion. Jim's family would also like to thank the staff and residents at Scranton Manor for their care and friendship.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. Funeral services will be held Monday evening at 7:30 pm.
