Mr. James M. Galuska, 63, of Duryea, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late John and Doris Reese Galuska and was a 1978 graduate of Seton Catholic High School, Pittston. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Duryea Borough.

James was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. He was a social member of the V.F.W. Post 1227 and the Polish Falcons Nest 128, both of Duryea.  He was a member and first commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 585, Duryea.

Surviving are:
Son, Gene Galuska and his fiancee, Adriana Littzi of Old Forge
Brother, John Galuska of Duryea
Brother, Robert Galuska and his fiancee, Mary Ellen of Duryea
Sister, Ann Marie Rossi and her husband, Ralph, of North Carolina
Nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 12:30 pm in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
