Ms. Jacqueline Ann Herron, 80, of Pittston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Allied Hospice, Scranton surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late George and Ella McHale Herron. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. She continued her education at Kings County Hospital of Nursing where she earned her RN Degree, Pace University of New York for her bachelor's degree in nursing and State University of New York for her master's degree in nursing and science.
She held numerous jobs such as a staff nurse, head nurse, assistant director of nursing and a clinical nurse specialist. She was most proud of the work in the renal field and transplant team, especially when it involved traveling overseas with the team. During her nursing career, she received honors from the State University of New York and also received the Carolyn Leeds Surgical Award.
She was preceded in death by her dear friend, Donald Page.

Great niece, Amanda Carpenter and her husband, Tim, of Factoryville
Great great nephews, Pierce and Preston Carpenter
Great great nieces, Lily and Avery Iyoob, Paisley Carpenter and Eden and Della Kilmer
She is also survived by numerous cousins.
Jacqueline left an impact on all she met. Her compassion was overwhelming. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
At this time, the family would like to thank the hospice staff of Allied for their care and compassion that was shown to Jacqueline and her family.

The Herron family were great neighbors while I was growing up. Jackie's father, George, was my youngest sister's godfather. Jackie was always kind and it's so heartwarming to read of all her wonderful accomplishments. May she rest peacefully. Condolences to her fanily and friends.
