Mrs. Irene (Daley) Talmage, 91, formerly of Avoca, a guest at Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Taylor, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.

Born in Avoca, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Zurowski Shemanski. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an LPN by several local nursing homes.

She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

She enjoyed cooking, listening to polka music, and talking to everyone she met. Her family was the center of her life and she will be dearly missed by all who lives she touched.

She was proceeded in death by her first husband, Joseph Daley, a son, Joseph D. Daley, daughters, Patricia Theresa Gibbons and Jean Snodgrass, two sisters, Dorothy Bowmen and Cecelia Sudek and son in law, Thomas Snodgrass.

Surviving are her second husband, Willis Talmage
Daughter, Lois Tomasetti and her husband, Neil, of Chester, New York
Son, Edward Daley and his wife, Lee Ann of Avoca
Daughter in law, Laura Daley of Albuquerque, New Mexico
Son in law, Gerard Gibbons of Old Forge
Seven Grandchildren
Four Great Grandchildren

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 P.M. in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea with the Rev. Andrew Sinnott officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
