Mrs. Helen (Etty) Polansky, 94, formerly of Pittston, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Wesley Village, Pittston.
Born in Duryea, Helen was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Grabosky Lasky. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the area garment industry.
Helen was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pittston prior to its closing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Polansky, who passed away on December 18, 2009, grandson, Michael Polansky, brothers, Stanley, William, Msgr. Joseph J. and Andrew, sisters, Julia Farrell, Genevieve Urban, Janet Lasky, Martha Parry, Elizabeth Ostrowski and Sophie McGarrity.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 10:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home.
