Mrs. Helen A. Hokien, 84, of Duryea, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at her home.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Trybus Kuzara. She attended Taylor High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the area garment industry for 28 years.

She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. She was a member of the ILGWU.

She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and eating out.

She was proceeded in death by her brother, John, and sister, Eleanor Schultz-Portanova.

She and her husband, Henry, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this past May 26th.

Son, Richard Hokien of Duryea
Daughter, Patricia Hokien-Poot and her husband, Jaap, of the Netherlands

Grandchildren:
Kaleena, Ricky, Billy, Tanja and Jaap
Great grandchildren:
Sydney and Samantha

Brother, Frank Kuzara and his wife, Genvieve, of Texas
Nieces and nephews

Funeral will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 9:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea with the Rev. Andrew Sinnott officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call on Friday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the donors favorite charity.
