Mr. Harry J. Berger, Jr. 73, of South Whitehall Twp., passed away October 14, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. With the heaviest of hearts, his soulmate and wife, Maureen A. (Sapolis) Berger, mourns this tremendous loss. He was the love of her life. The couple would have celebrated 36 years of marriage on Oct. 21st.
Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Harry J. Sr. and Bernadette R. (Beckenthal) Berger. Harry was a construction coordinator for The Allentown Housing Authority for 20 years, retiring in 2000. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Montclair State University and his Master’s Degree from Lehigh University.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield. Harry was an avid fan of the New York Football Giants and the Yankees. He had a love for automobiles and was a collector of diecast cars.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Bernadette Berger and father-in-law, Louis Sapolis.

A committal service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 11:30 am in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Duryea. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
