Mr. Guido V. Rickbone, of Duryea, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Bartellotto Rickbone. He was a graduate of Pittston High School. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served and was honorably discharged. He worked for over 40 years in Newark, New Jersey in the automotive industry.
Upon retirement, he resided in Duryea with his sister, Esther Tancredi, now deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Benny Rickbone.

Guido was like a father to his niece, Esther Catherine Kramer, after her own father passed away when she was a child. He was like a grandfather to her four children, Jeffrey, Colleen, Joshua and Kelly. Also surviving Guido, is Esther's husband, Jeff.
He was a beloved uncle who was kind, gentle, loving and a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. Services will be held at 7:00 pm by Pastor Erik Hanson. Interment will be in Old Forge Cemetery, Old Forge. I always loved coming to the house and just taking of Guido. It was a pleasure to have meet him and his sister and his niece. I will always remember our talks. RIp Guido.
