Mrs. Geraldine Mikitish Jones, 62, formerly of Duryea, of Washington D.C., passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 14, 2017.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Michael N. and Geraldine A. Mikitish. She was a graduate of Potomac Senior High School, Oxen Hill, Md .  After graduation she went to work for the federal government as a secretary within the Pentagon and later for Giant Food.

She started working at the early age of 15 and retired in her 30's due to a disability. 

She loved to laugh which brought a smile to the ones around her, that smile will be greatly missed.  

She was preceded in death by her former husband Robert Jones.

Granddaughter, Amber Nicole Jones of Maryland

Brother, Dr. Michael Mikitish and his wife, Rosa Maria, of Cherry Hill, N.J.
Brother, Peter Mikitish and his wife, Michelle, of Pittston

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Arrangements are by the Bernard J.
