Narsavage

“Unbelievable!” MSgt Frank Narsavage (USAF, retired) of Moscow passed away on September 4, 2022.

Frank was born September 25, 1940 in the Junction section of Pittston to Frances and Stanley Narsavage. Upon graduating from Pittston High School in 1958, he joined the US Navy and served on the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CV-41) during a Pacific tour before joining the Air Force. Stationed all over the country and the world—including serving in the Vietnam War, by the end of his life he’d had reason to set foot in at least half a dozen countries and 49 out of the 50 states. He met Bonnie Luke after setting foot in Nebraska and they were wed on August 25, 1967. Working mostly in personnel, he dealt directly with everyone from airmen to generals. Some of his proudest memories are serving under General Hicks in the Strategic Air Command at Grand Forks AFB and being part of a tight-knit inspector general team ensuring readiness during the Cold War. Frank retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of combined service with the Navy and Air Force. Decorations include the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal.

A dedicated family man, he then returned home with Bonnie and their son, working for the Tobyhanna Army Depot, US Postal Service, and FNCB Bank. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golf, telling long stories, and taking in high school football games.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers: an infant and Stanley of Dunmore.

Missing him most are his wife, Bonnie of Moscow; and his son Dan and wife Kate and grandson of Nampa, ID. Also surviving are sister Mary Ann and husband Blair of Wapwallopen; two brothers Steve of Hughestown, and Peter and wife Georgia of Macungie; as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom have been a source of joy for Frank.

Warm thanks to all who’ve helped Bonnie and Frank through the past few years.
