Mr. Frank Lojewski, 94, of Duryea, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Wesley Village, Pittston where he resided since March of this year.
Born in Moosic, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Mary Wilk Lojewski. He was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1940. He was further educated at Coyne Electrical School, Chicago, Illinois and Centralized Electrican School, Georgia. A World War II veteran, he served as a S/Sgt in the European Theater of Operation participating in major battles in Central Europe, Bastogne, Ardennes and Rhineland. He was a retired employee of the former Celotex Corporation, Harding.
Frank was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea and a former member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Dupont AMVETS Post 189 and the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge Chapter 19, Scranton.
Frank had an upbeat personality and loved being with family and friends. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom he called his "buddies".
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Lojewski and his sisters, Rita Guida and Cecilia Klauss.
Frank is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former Sophie Hamsky, a resident of Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor.

Great grandsons, Matthew and Joshua Yurkon
Great granddaughter, Lydia Natale
Brother, Raymond Lojewski and his wife, Bernardine, of Duryea

The family would like to thank Grebby, Bobby and Joe for being great friends and neighbors who looked after Frank. The family would also like to thank the nursing staff of Wesley Village and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the excellent care and attention given to Frank and his family.
Funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
