Mr. Frank C. Mackowsky, 87, of Mooresville, North Carolina, formerly of Duryea, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the Serenity House, Mooresville, North Carolina.

Born in Taylor, Frank was the son of the late Paul and Tessie Zultewicz Mackowsky. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, Frank was employed by Metkote Laminated Products Inc., Taylor.

He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, the former Bernice Pakutka, brothers, Joseph, John, Paul, Walter and Raymond and sister, Sophie Semmel.

Surviving are:
Son, Frank Mackowsky and his wife, Cheryl, of Mooresville, North Carolina
Grandsons, Frank and Matthew

Nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018, at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea. There will be no viewing. The AMVETS of Greater Pittston will conduct military services.  Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
