Mrs. Florence Temple (Kemler) Bartnikowski, 93, of Duryea, entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning in Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.
Born in Taylor, on March 14, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Lillian Horsman Kemler. Florence was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1944. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the area garment industry.
Florence was a member of the Brick United Methodist Church, Duryea.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who will be truly missed for her wisdom and wit. Mom loved to crochet and was an avid reader, especially liking mystery novels. So Mom, we are at peace, for with your love we were so blessed all of these many years. The day God called you home for he has better plans for you. We will tuck you in our hearts fondly, memories unfold as we think of you, a precious mom through and through.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Bartnikowski Sr., brothers, Thomas Richard (Dick) Kemler and Alvin Kemler and sisters, Margaret Winn and Ethel Ball.

Son, Michael Bartnikowski Sr. and his wife, Christine, of Duryea
Grandson, Michael Bartnikoski Jr. and his wife, Karen
Granddaughter, Lisa Hodle and her husband, Christopher Sr.
Great grandchildren:
Kaitlyn, Christopher Jr. and Austin Hodle
Great great grandchildren:
Madison, Kaylee and Stephen

The family would like to thank the staff at Allied Skilled Nursing, Scranton and the Moses Taylor ER and second floor staff for the care and compassion that was shown in Florence.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 1:00 pm at the Brick United Methodist Church, 935 Foote Ave., Duryea with the Rev Sharon Deitz officiating. Interment will be in the Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the church. Funeral arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brick United Methodist Church. My thoughts go out to you all. Our visits to Duryea were always made brighter by porch visits with Aunt Floss. She always had wonderful family stories and pictures to share, and made us all feel loved and cared about. She will truly be missed!
