Mrs. Esther A. (Franko) Zavrotny, 91, Falls, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on the family farm in Falls, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Evancho) Franko Sr. Esther attended Falls Overfield schools, graduating salutatorian Class of 1952. She was employed by Falls Dress Company.

Esther was a devout Catholic and a member of Corpus Christi Parish, Church of the Holy Redeemer. She greatly appreciated visits from the parish Social Concerns Committee and Eucharistic minister, her cousin, Donna. Esther was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted much of her life to caregiving. Esther enjoyed gardening, preserving vegetables from her garden, and watching EWTN.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Zavrotny Sr. and brothers, Cyril and George Franko.



She is survived by:
Son, Joseph Zavrotny Jr.
Son, David Zavrotny and his wife, Laurie
Daughter, Tina Pearson and her husband, Jay

6 grandchildren Joshua, Andrew, Daniel, Mary, Brian, and Anna
4 great-grandchildren Taylor, Lawna, Lucas, and Connor

Sisters-in-law Jean Franko and Carol Zavrotny
A niece and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 am at Church of the Holy Redeemer, 2435 State Route 92, Falls/Harding. Prior to mass, a viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Church of the Holy Redeemer. Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Duryea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Parish Social Concerns Committee, 605 Luzerne Ave, West Pittston, PA 18643. Arrangements are by the Bernard J.
