Every word that Richie’s granddaughter expressed is absolutely true ! I cut her hair for a few years and can remember some of our conversations… she never had a bad word to say about anyone… She also sent me congratulatory cards whenever she knew of an event in my family or church life … she was a quiet… kind compassionate lady! Rest in peace Elinor!

Elinor was a remarkable and sweet woman whose kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed dearly by myself and my family. I first met Elinor when I was about 15 years old and my grandfather (Richard Slatky) and I would cut her grass. My sister and cousins would go grocery shopping and clean for her. Over the past 15 years, she never forgot a holiday or birthday and was so kind to send us cards for every one of them. She would always include a heartfelt note expressing all her love and well wishes. We loved visiting with her. She was always so happy to hear about our lives and how we were doing. She would always ask about our grandparents to make sure they were doing well. We sadly lost our grandfather in November of last year. The last time I took him to visit with her, he told her that he “couldn’t express how happy” he was to see her again, as it had been a few years since he had seen her. Though sad to have lost them both, it brings me some peace knowing that they can now see each other again in heaven. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the same love and kindness she brought into our lives. We love you Elinor.
