Mr. Edward P. Zelinski, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014.

Born in Duryea, on September 24, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph and Martha Delengowski Zielinski. He was a graduate of Duryea High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, he served with the Border Patrol in Texas. Prior to returning to Northeast Pennsylvania, he retired from the Bureau of Standards in Washington, DC.

He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Zielinski and sister, Alice Dollard.

Surviving are:
Sister, Stella Sikorski of New Jersey
Sister in law, Vicki Zielinski of Duryea
Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 1:00 pm in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea with the Rev. Andrew Sinnott officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea.
